About Conversation Cards

Conversation Cards is a free web app with 31 decks of conversation starters, 1,860 cards in all. You open a deck, read a card out loud, and talk. There's no account to create and nothing to install.

What it's for

Most of us know the feeling of running out of things to say with someone we'd like to know better, or of having the same conversation about work and weekend plans for the hundredth time. A good question gets you out of that faster than anything else, and a deck of them means nobody has to think one up on the spot.

Each deck is written for a particular situation, so the questions fit the people you're with: a first date, a family dinner, a long drive, a team meeting, a friend who is staying up too late.

The decks

For couples

First Date for the early days, Relationship and Relationship Deep Dive for couples who have been together a while, and Marriage Hacks, a deck of small things to try together.

For friends and family

Family for the dinner table, Parent and Child for one-to-one talks, Kids' Corner for younger children and Road Trip for long drives.

For parties

Party games like Never Have I Ever and Truth or Drink, would-you-rather questions in Dilemmas, and Unpopular Opinions for tables that like to argue.

For thinking alone

Introspection and Late Night Thoughts work as journal prompts, and Insights into Life turns ideas from Jung and the Stoics into questions about your own life.

For work

Colleagues and Team Building for the start of a meeting, and Job Interview Simulator for practicing answers out loud.

Make your own

If none of the decks fit, Create writes a 20-card deck on any topic with AI, and you can preview it before saving. The Mixer shuffles two or more decks into one session.

Who makes it

Conversation Cards is a small independent project run from Finland. It's free to use. If you enjoy it and want to help keep it that way, you can buy us a coffee. For anything else, see the contact page.
